iPad Air review of Greatness

This review is a bit late but still,

The  iPad Air is here!!!, If you haven’t gotten your hands on it imagine the iPad mini then you’re largely there with the Air. The Air is a complete redesign of the familiar 9.7-inch iPad into a package that’s smaller, thinner, and lighter than ever before, with far more powerful same industry-leading 10-hour battery life. It’s also Apple’s first tablet to be released with iOS7 and uses the same brilliant 64-bit Apple A7 processor as the iPhone 5S and comes with Apple’s trademark Retina screen.

The Power Of Lightness

The iPad Air is much lighter  than all other tablets in its class at just 469g. This is something that I was really impressed by

iPad 3 on the left iPad Air on the RightThat’s the first thing you’ll notice when picking it up and it really makes a big difference when using the iPad Air for long periods of time. It’s perfectly balanced. You can hold it to read or watch a movie for hours simply by cupping a corner in your palm.
Try that with any other iPad you’ll quickly get a shaky arm and maybe pull a muscle (maybe)
The iPad Air’s  sides are rounder I guess this makes it more comfy for you to hold.
The screen bezels have also been slimmed down  which makes the iPad Air 16mm narrower which I am not too comfortable with because an accidental hit on the screen can cause it to be inoperable.
The iPad Air’s bezels are much thinner than the iPads before it

iPad Air Screen – Retina display

Air has a 9.7-inch 2048 x 1536 Retina panel same as the one on iPad 4 , which is still among the best, it offers 264 pixels per inch, with scratch proof glass, nearly perfect viewing angles, color reproduction, and touch response.

iPad Air: Camera

Around the back, you’ll find the same 5-megapixel camera as the previous iPad; then the 1.2-megapixel front facing camera offers better low-light performance. A new dual-microphone setup offers noise cancellation for better audio while you’re recording video, and a pair of stereo speakers now flank the Lightning connector on the bottom. It’s a slight improvement over the mono speaker of previous iPads. There’s still no flash, though, so you don’t expect great results in dim environments. .

iPad Air: Battery Life

To make the iPad Air so thin and light Apple has reduced the size of the battery, but still claims 10 hours of constant use, which is pretty good. The Air also managed to gain a respectable  about two hours worth of battery life from a 30-minute charge. Which I think is great for someone like me whose always streaming videos, blogging, chatting (basically sucking the battery life out of my iPad)

The Air also comes in four storage sizes 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, runs the iOS7 same as the iPhone 5S, To Learn more about the iOS software visit ===>http://www.apple.com/ios/

  • Very light
  • Beautiful design
  • Excellent screen
  • Solid battery life

  • Pricey
  • No Flash in the Camera

It’s a joy to hold the iPad Air, Apple has finally nailed the tablet with a great combination of specs, power and a decent OS. From the clever construction to the fast processor to the improved user interface, and the suite of apps that are now free, coupled with the excellent App Store and premium build, make this a no brainer for anyone looking to enter the tablet market.

It’ll make the best Christmas gift, for any techy, geeky gadget guy or girl out there
